Beloved Community
A Healing-Centered Network Reimagining Justice

The Beloved Community is a multi-racial coalition of 20 Black-and Brown-led grassroots organizations transforming Los Angeles

In the fall of 2020, the Beloved Community formed as a collective to heal community divisions, address historic systemic oppression, and build a new system of community care across Los Angeles County. Convened by Mike de la Rocha from Revolve Impact and Angela Rye from IMPACT STRATEGIES, the Beloved Community is creating spaces for healing and opportunities for leading grassroots leaders to develop authentic relationships in order to build narrative power and capacity, a step that is absolutely critical to protecting and advancing efforts to transform Los Angeles’s justice system not just for Black and Brown Los Angelenos, but for us all.
